L'Internationale Mission Statement
L'Internationale Confederation is pleased to publish its revised mission statement.
L’Internationale is a confederation of museums, arts organizations and universities that strives to reimagine, re-articulate and practice internationalism, solidarity and communality with respect for our differences.
L’Internationale works transnationally through art, programmes, collections, archives, research, publishing and forms of institutionality.
L’Internationale rejects fascism, extractivism and neocolonialism and confronts them in the cultural field.
L’Internationale envisions a world of many worlds, where European cultural and geopolitical positions are decentred and our public spheres reshaped.
L’Internationale believes in being locally situated, responding and contributing to the communities, histories and ecosystems in which we operate.
L’Internationale commits to contributing to a liveable planet by fostering sustainable practices and infrastructural changes within the cultural ecosystem.
L’Internationale aims to enact the principles of the commons: practicing horizontality among our institutions and as a confederation while sharing collective resources with our communities.
