Behçet Çelik

Behçet Çelik is a writer and novelist based in Istanbul. He has published several collections of short stories and essays as well as novels. He received the Sait Faik Short Story Award in 2008 for Gün Ortasında Arzu [Mid-Day Desire] and Haldun Taner Short Story Award in 2011 for Diken Ucu (Thorn Tip). A selection of his short stories was published in German in 2021 under the title Glück allein. His writings have been translated into various languages, including English, Japanese, Spanish, Armenian, and Kurdish, and have appeared in anthologies such as Stad en Mens (2007), Istanbul Noir (2008), Aeolian Visions/Versions: Modern Classics and New Writing from Turkey (2013), and City-Pick Istanbul (2013).
