Denise Pollini

Denise Pollini is a researcher, educator and curator who lives between Porto and Antwerp. She is currently developing a PhD at the University of Antwerp under the theme ‘The Commons and Museums: the Commons as a Pathway to a New Institutional Dynamic’. Her research engages with the concept of Commons to propose New Institutionalities in relation to Museums.

Since 2022, Pollini has been a member of the Research Center ‘Culture Commons Quest Office’ (CCQO) in Antwerp, led by sociologist of culture Pascal Gielen. Between 2015 and 2021, she was Head of Education at the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art in Porto, and previously held the same position at the Museum of Brazilian Art São Paulo, between 1999 and 2015. As an academic background, she holds a master’s degree in Performing Arts from the University of São Paulo (USP), and a degree in Visual Arts from Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation (FAAP).
