MA Forum in collaboration with LIO: Nkule Mabaso
The MA Forum introduces postgraduate students to research through artistic practice. It partners with L’Internationale Online, whereby practices featured are studied through a public lecture and closed sessions with students. Lectures have included Åsa Sonjasdotter, Rana Issa, Mohanad Yaqubi, Onkar Kular and Yazan Khalili.
The final lecture of 2024-2025 is given by Nkule Mabaso, curator and director of Fotogalleriet in Oslo. Mabaso will reflect on navigating the complexities of exhibiting photographic works in medium-specific institutions.
Mabaso is an artist and curator. Currently, Mabaso is the director of the Fotogalleriet (Oslo), a publicly funded institution/kunsthalle for photography in the Nordic region. Concurrently, Mabaso is a Ph.D. researcher at the HDK-Valand Academy of Art & Design, Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Mabaso is the founding director of the Natal Collective (2012), an independent production company based in South Africa, and is active internationally in the research and presentation of creative and cultural Africana contemporary art and politics.

Open Call – School of Common Knowledge 2024
MSU (Zagreb), Van Abbemuseum (Eindhoven), MG+MSUM (Ljubljana), ZRC SAZU (Ljubljana) and L'Internationale invite applications for the new School of Common Knowledge (SCK) to be held in Zagreb and Ljubljana 24–29 May 2024. The School of Common Knowledge draws on the network, knowledge and experience of the L’Internationale museum confederation. Its ambition is to be both nomadic and situated, looking at specific cultural and geopolitical situations while exploring their relations and interdependencies with the rest of the world. The SCK is built on the basis laid by the Glossary of Common Knowledge project initiated by Zdenka Badovinac and Moderna galerija (Ljubljana) and continues its co-learning methodology.
